1.what first inspired you to become a drummer?

It something that I’ve always wanted to do, but in the past I have been more of a sporty person. But recently I hurt my back – it was serious and stopped me from playing Basketball and a lot of the sports that I enjoyed.So I needed something to fill in the time – and like I said, I always wanted to, so one day about three months ago I said stuff it – and rocked up at Revolver drums and brought my first drum set.

2.Anything that you’ve learnt along the way that’s really helped you as a drummer?

I have just been listening to a lot  music – all types – I love Eskimo Joe, and Wolfmother… and I have a few old Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Silverchair at home so I listen a lot to those.
I have been getting books and dvd to teach me with the “intro” stuff, plus I have a couple of friends who have been playing for a while, so I have been talking to them.
I have also been trying to just be creative myself…
Next step is learning to read music…
 
3.Who have you and/or who are you playing with at the moment and what are the bands movements?

I have just been playing by myself – and listening to tracks and trying to copy them. I have learnt, beat and fills from the books and DVD. I might like to join a band in the future, but at the moment and I’m happy to just keep it as a hobbie – when I started I had no intentions of forming a band, but if the opportunity arises in the future I think it would be fun to take it up… Anything to plug? Maybe in the future…
 
4.What gear are you using at present?

I just have a Mapex set… I can’t remember the actual type  - buts it’s working for me – in the past three months I have broken three sticks and put a hole in my snare, which I am proud of…
 
5.What would be your dream gig?

I guess if we were talking about a dream gig… I would have to say headlining at Big Day Out – I have been to a few, and I think it would be a dream (and strangely funny) gig… I say funny coz I would have never thought watching them for years that I would actually get to play at 
 
6.favourite drummers and/or bands and why?

Favourite band at the moment would have to be Eskimo Joe – to tell you the truth hate them before their latest album, but red fingernails,  red wine, has total changed my view of them…I have the drum beat – simple but catch – It’s always in my head…
