1. what first inspired you to become a drummer?
The drummer, Paul Cockshaun, out of the band my parents played in was a real cool guy, I used to watch him play. The drums drived the music along I think that’s what attracked me to percussion, my parents tried to get me to play Ukuelaly but that just didn’t feel the same as making heaps of noise on the drums.
2. anything that you’ve learnt along the way that’s really helped you as a drummer?
*Time is the most important thing *Then attitude
3. who have you and/or who are you playing with at the moment and what are the bands movements?
I’ve got a few projects in the pipeline, “The Pitstop Nymphos” just got back from N..Z. We played a couple of gigs in Christchurch which went pretty well. I think we played new years. Anything to plug? I’m playing with a couple of guys from a band which broke up last year we havn’t got a name yet but we should be gigging soon.
4. what gear are you using at present?
An old Pearl Export 4 piece kit with a Mapex Pro M Snare, 2 Crashes 18 inch 20 inch Ride 14 hats. (It sounds O.K. with new skins honest)
5. what would be your dream gig?
Hendrix with Bradley from Sublime singing Bonham on congos and Kurt Cobain playing bass. I probably let John play drums I,d just watch.
6. favourite drummers and/or bands and why?
Tama from G.S.E. Cos hes cool, Ando from From Hell he kicks arse, Redford from Shapeshifter real solid dude, Darren great teacher, Matt Cameron what can I say, Ago out of Legends of Motor Sport, Nancy from The Hybernators she rocks, The drummer out of The Grates shes awsome. There are heaps of phenominal drummers and bands around, it’s inspiring living in Melbourne.
