Paul Bonacci
1. what first inspired you to become a drummer?
Girls! - he he he, na - probably the power behind the kit - Drums are in instrument you can't miss and the beat is SO damn important, how could you not put yourself in that position.
2. anything that you've learnt along the way that's really helped you as a drummer?
Yes, Less is more - technical is great, but who wants to hear fill after fill - playing for the song rather than for yourself is a hug one. Playing lighter and swifter from the wrist is another - you get less tired and can play with better staminer for longer.
3. who have you and/or who are you playing with at the moment and what are the bands movements? Anything to plug?
Yes - My band is Supercede - www.myspace.com/supercede - there is a song from each EP up there, we are soon to release our third this year in April - this is our best delivery yet - high powered melodic driven music. Cheers!
4. what gear are you using at present?
At present using a premier Genista - Sabian Cymbals and all DW pedals (5000 series)
5. what would be your dream gig?
A festival slot - Just as the sun is going down and crowd is getting more and more pissed - this we we can hit em with some hard rockin tunes before the night buidls to it's big end
6. favourite drummers and/or bands and why?
Drummers - wow - OK Travis Dempsy - ex living End - Ah the sheer power and look on his face every gig, I have never seen a man love it any more - Brad Wilk (Rage against the machine days) - Again, playing for the song - keeping all parts interesting and every stroke played with agression and a full stop to finish, his sound is warm and full and realy is the backbone - Mike Bordin - FAith no more - again, solid as a rock, big drum sound.?
