His fascination for music started from the age of 8 years old. Following in the footsteps of his dad as a drummer, percussionist and vocalist. Growing up to the sounds of The Commodores, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Earth, Wind &Fire, & Bob Marley& the Wailers had him already prepped up for an up and coming career in music.
He then took drumming to the next level from the age of 14 years old at Drumtek School of drumming as a student for 5 years.In the year 2000 he won Australias best up & coming drummer competition, and from there earned endorsements with Premier drums, Sabian cymbals and Vater drumsticks. he also featured in the top 20 new millennium players article from Australias leading drum magazine Drum scene.
Jason then went on to spend one year in Los Angeles with an original band on what was basically a recording contract, Recording in some of Los Angeles well known studios and rubbing shoulders with a heavy weight list of producers, engineers and musicians that L.A. has to offer.

After his experience overseas he went on to join Disco Montego one of Australias best new dance group at the time. and went strait into touring nationally .the group performed tours such as the national Rumba festival the Channel V music bus tour and an Australian support tour with Craig David.

That year sparked off a stream of T.V. Performances such as ,G.M.A.,the Panel, Aria music awards, Dance music awards, Rove Live,Channel V & M.T.V. Network NINE"THE SINGING BEE""07"as the drummer,Network SEVEN 'AUSTRALIA'S GOT TALENT'"06"as the percussionist and lead vocalist,Network TEN "AUSTRALIAN IDOL' and also Performed with Australian idols Guy Sebastian,Anthony Callea,Ricky lee Coultar,Vanessa Amorosi, Gary pinto,Andrew d'silva (C.D.B), Jeremy gregory ,Disco montego, Jade Macrae, Daniel Meriweather,Richard Clapton, the pussycat dolls, Tina cousins,Marcia & Deni Hines, Craig david,Rhianna,Nelly Furtato and many more...

In 2003 Jason Heerah had the privilege to perform at Australias biggest Drumming Festival The Ultimate Drummers day Weekend and you can see some of his performance on the 2003 T.U.D.W. DVD.

2004 had Jason touring with Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian on the Beautiful life tour as the bands percussionist (playing Exclusively Meinl percussion gear) and backing vocalist.

At current Jason Heerah is building on his career as a highly regarded musician amidst Melbournes vast music scene, gigging at some of the coolest venues around town on regular occasions at Alumbra, Baraki,The Nightcat, Lotel, Shamiana bar, The Evlyn ,The Esplanade hotel, The Vinyard,Veludo bar,Z lounge,Club Odean, Cellinis & Motel to name a few of his regular weekly gigs with these regular bands and artist around town AFRODESIA, MOTIF, JAHRUKUS, HEADSPACE, JOSH OWEN, ELLA THOMPSON, TRIBAL KINGS

Amongst all his performances Jason works extensively in the studio. known as Jammin Jay he is currently collaborating and writing for his own project for which he aspires to complete.

In Oct 2005 he Colaborated alongside some of melbournes best underground artist/producers and writers in the house music scence. The project was a marketing E.P. for Nandos Worldwide called Afrodesiac. Jason co-wrote and co- produced the Vocal and Music Production for 2 tracks on the album,'Love Safari" and "Kele Le Mama'. Jason played percussion on all the tracks, including the single "give in' an Independent release by Quazimodo.

Jason is collaborating on an array of original projects at the moment TRIBAL KINGS being one of them a Live percussive house trio which released in the aussie club charts in september "07" a remix of "Canto de Liberta"Which Got on The Minestry of Sound '08' compilation.

Jason is also co-producing at Present Dennis Dowlut's (Disco Montego-Kaylan)Debut Solo Album.which will be shopped around some of the biggest labels in London and Australia Later this Year 2008.

His Original Reggae Band "Jahrukus is Giging and"Promo-ing Thier Forthcoming Album and Aiming For some of those big time summer festivals nationaly & internationally.JAHRUKUS had recently just come out of a studio session with Reggae Pioneer Bunny Rugs of third world.They Scraped Together a Fresh Jammin Tune "Island Girl" which Will feat RUGS on the Albulm,and Possibly a Remixed version by Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespere on Bunnys New Album.

Part of his week to week work in the studio includes Teaching on a weekly basis at Jammin JAY Studios & also has been involved in class teaching at Nunawading S.D.A. college ,Youth Connextions in Box hill for the city of Whithorse & as a Percussionist for the V.C.A. school of Dance,Co-Writing sessions,Music Production,Vocal,Drum &Percussion sessions
