During his professional career Tristan has performed as an original member of ‘Funk the Distance’, appeared as a key member of the original music project
‘The Pyramid Scheme’, began and ended Revolver Battle of the bands winners ‘Word of Mouth’ during’ 05-06.
He Currently Performs with the Jazz Quintet ‘The J Spots’ and is writing for and developing two original projects.
Tristan also Performs session recordings for musical colleagues, and has accompanied many others as a drummer and percussionist.

Teaching Objectives

To empower each student with the skills and knowledge they require, to become a great “Musical” drummer.

This is achieved through a strategic and progressive based approach to learning the drum kit, during which students are exposed to a wide range of musical genres, playing styles, Drum kit techniques, and practical approaches to each.

I focus on the understanding and development of Groove Playing, Rhythm and Rhythmic patterns and devices, Co-ordination and Independence, Technical and academic understanding of music and reading skills.

I aim to develop each student’s sense of Musical Interpretation and feel, and the awareness of physical and mental state, through physical and meditative approaches to practice and performance.
I also place great emphasis on the development of Posture and Technique, as crucial elements of effectively and safely playing the Drum kit.
