Alternate Way To Practice
So we grabbed some paper and did this
Firstly we used a bar of 1/8th note count
Secondly half a bar of 1/8th note count and half of 1/16th
Thirdly a whole bar of 1/16th note count.
And we played this.
1. Hand-kick-hand-kick etc.
2. Hand-hihat foot-hand-hihat foot etc
3. Hand-kick-hand-hihat foot etc
Not exactly ground breaking but effective patterns that under normal circumstances most students wouldn’t try to do. So by doing this you will have improved your feet coordination and one of your hands as well. Yes I know that one of your hands will get a better workout than normal but isn’t some kind of improvement better than none at all.
In addition if you have use of all your limbs and you have never tried this kind of stuff before, well what are you waiting for go ahead and do it and watch your improvement.
