This extract from Daniel Glass' book "Early Rhythm and Blues Drumming" is all about the very cool Texas Shuffles which came to the fore again in the mid 80's courtesy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and drummer Chris Layton. Enough let's get started! I cannot recommend this book more highly - it is probably the best of it's kind on the market in both it's attention to the evolution of the grooves and the actual history of drumming.
